Metal Fabricator (1 Position Open)

About the role
We are seeking an adaptable, prompt, punctual and prepared individual to join our growing team as a Metal Fabricator and make a meaningful contribution to business and client outcomes.
Reporting to the Factory Manager and supported by the wider AW Signs team, this great role will see you use your trade and experience in the signage (or similar industry) to fabricate work across medium projects to large scale rollouts always on schedule and always to a very high standard.
Must haves:
Extensive experience in aluminium and steel fabrication (MIG, TIG, and ARC Welding)
Be a fully qualified trades person
Able to operated a forklift (relevant licence)
Can read and interpreting engineering and shop drawings
Willing to work with heavy materials and safety equipment
Can plan ahead and keep track of materials required
Prepared to sometimes assist in other areas of the business
To be actively involved in internal housekeeping
About You
Have a keen eye for detail
Understand the importance of work safety
Possess good oral and written communication skills
Have your own transport to get to Kurnell
Hold a current White or Blue Card
Be available for paid overtime where required
Have an aptitude for working with computers
Possess excellent time management skills that result in on time delivery
We would prefer it if you have a minimum of 2 - 5 years in the trade. Whilst having signage experience is preferred, it’s not essential. If you have some experience in soldering and LED that would be a real bonus.
You will be looking to continue building a trade career for yourself within a small but supportive team where each day is unlike the one before.
You will enjoy pushing yourself, using your skills and gaining more and more signage fabrication experience within a blue collar industry and a small business environment.
You will be organised, have great attention to detail, enjoy hard work and have strong communication skills. You will also be adaptable, prompt, punctual and prepared.

About the role
We are seeking an adaptable, prompt, punctual and prepared individual to join our growing team as a Mid Level Industrial Signage Designer and make a meaningful contribution to business and client outcomes.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and supported by the wider AW Signs team, this great role will see you use your Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and superb communication skills to express your talent in technical illustration.
You will be responsible for interpreting the supplied requirements into the creation and timely delivery of workshop drawings and design files. Your documentation will precisely communicate the work for clients, project managers, production and installation teams.
As you progress through these complex design projects, you will become a key member of the team, contributing to the successful delivery of high value signage projects. For the right person, you will become an expert signage design communicator in this thriving industry.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Attend internal briefings with Project Managers
Reviewing supplied information and documentation ensuring project is design ready
Create workshop drawings with a high attention to detail to include where relevant, scale elevations, dimensions, materials and finishes with complete graphic and construction detail
Create print-ready design files ready for production
Support the process, the people and the projects (not always just design)

About you

Reporting into the Project Director, supported by the wider project team, operations and estimating, you will confidently use your organisational and communications skills to lead the planning and implementation of selected high value projects.
This position will play a vital role in supporting the business and will be a stepping stone for the right person into a Senior Project Management role. Your main responsibilities will be:
Managing projects from inception through to completion
A laser focus on cost control and contract progress
Leading the engagement with internal and external stake holders
Manage Quality Assurance/Final Inspection
Ensure all WH&S principals and site-specific obligations are met

About you
You’re a confident Project Manager with at least 3 years of commercial experience managing high value projects and you’ll be looking for the next step in your career.
